Eficacia “in vitro” de una solución alcohólica de timol frente al ácaro Varroa destructor
Main Article Content
Abstract
This investigation was carried out in the laboratories of Cuba Bee Research Centre in the period of March to June of the 2007and had as objective to evaluate the effectiveness “in vitro” of an alcoholic solution of thymol on the Varroa destructor mite in rehearsals with alone mite and in rehearsals with bees with mite. You use one experimental design of complete blocks at random, with several groups’ treatment and two controls (alcohol to 70% and negative control). The period of evaluation extended for 24 hours, with intervals of 1, 2, 4, 6 and 24 hours. All the used doses produced 100% of mortality in the mite at the two hours of having applied, so much in rehearsals with mite as in bees with mite.
