Humidity analysis of cuban raw propolis
Main Article Content
Abstract
Propolis is a hive product with a high biological value for humans and animals. In order to protect honest consumer and producers, there is a growing need to evaluate the quality of propolis with parameters that can be applied to any sample regardless of its origin. Among these is humidity. The aim of the study was the humidity analysis in 208 propolis samples. To carry it out, they were collected in different province and municipalities, in such a way that the presence not only different regions, but also different geographical areas, climates and vegetation were represented. Humidity determination and statistical analysis of the results were carried out on all of them. No significant statistical differences were found between provinces or years of study. The coefficients of variation were below five percent. It was concluded that despite the variation in seasons, or the time of collection, and the different regions or provinces, these do not influence the humidity values.
